Woodcarver
A block of wood, a sharp tool, and a person patient enough to find the shape inside it.
Why the human is the point
A woodcarver looks at a plain block and sees the form waiting under the surface, then removes everything that is not it. Each cut is a decision that cannot be undone, so the work is equal parts nerve and care, reading the grain, listening to how the wood wants to move, following it. The tools are simple and the timeline is honest: a good relief panel or figure is hours of quiet attention, one clean cut after another. Run your hand over finished carving and you feel the record of that patience, the facets a person left on purpose. It is one of the oldest ways we have of making wood say something. The woodcarver is the reason a plank can become a face, a vine, a story.
