Silversmith
A silversmith raises a flat sheet into a vessel, one measured hammer blow at a time.

Why the human is the point
A silversmith turns flat metal into form: a bowl raised from a disc, a spoon forged from a bar, a cuff that fits the exact wrist it was made for. The craft runs on rhythm, hundreds of small hammer blows that stretch and gather the silver, annealed soft with flame between rounds so it keeps moving. It is loud, physical work guided by a quiet eye, the maker feeling the curve grow true under the planishing hammer. Silver holds every honest mark, so a hand-raised piece has a life that a stamped one never will. Set a handmade beaker on a table and it carries the weight of the hours inside it. The silversmith is the reason plain metal can become something you keep, and pass on.
