Knitter
Two sticks, a length of wool, and a pair of hands that turn winter into something you can wrap around a shoulder.

Why the human is the point
A knitter takes the simplest raw material, a single strand of wool, and builds warmth one loop at a time. Watch the hands and you see thousands of small decisions happening below thought: tension held just so, a stitch dropped back and rescued, a cable crossed to make the pattern turn. Every finished piece carries the quiet arithmetic of the person who made it, the slight give where they relaxed, the even rows where they found their rhythm. A knitter can sit with you and talk while the sweater grows, because the knowing lives in the fingers now. What they hand you at the end is soft, particular, and made entirely for a real body. It is the oldest kind of gift: time turned into warmth.
