Why the human is the point
Their patients arrive scared, mute, and incapable of exaggerating. Everything must be read from a flinch, a gait, an owner's worried half-story. Then the vet decides, and signs for the decision with their own conscience. It is diagnosis without testimony and mercy without language: judgment exercised on behalf of a creature that can only trust. Some responsibilities can't be outsourced. This is one.
