Rescue Swimmer
The one who goes toward the water when everyone else is coming out.

Why the human is the point
When the sea turns and a swimmer is in trouble, a rescue swimmer reads the whole scene in a heartbeat and moves. This is strength married to judgment, knowing the rip, the timing, the tired arm that will grab too hard, and going in anyway. Long before the sprint down the sand there are the quiet hours of watching, the trained eye that spots the head that stops bobbing. People place their lives in these hands on their worst possible day, and that trust is earned through drill after patient drill. It is a job of nerve and heart, held by someone who decided that other people are worth swimming out for. The beach feels safer simply because they are there, scanning the line where the waves begin.
