A person who goes to the thing itself, asks the hard question, and writes down what is true.
Why the human is the point
Someone has to actually go: to the scene, the council meeting, the door no one wants knocked on, and come back with what happened rather than what someone wanted said. The journalist checks, corroborates, and puts their name to it, because being wrong in public has a cost. In an age of infinite noise, a person exercising judgment about what is true and worth telling is not a luxury. It is how a society knows anything at all. A feed generates. A journalist verifies.
