Game Warden
Out where the roads end, a game warden keeps the wild fair, reading the land and looking after the animals and the people in it.

Why the human is the point
A game warden is the law and the welcome desk of wild country at once. They know which stream the fish are spawning in, which track belongs to which animal, and which visitor needs a word and which needs a hand. It is a job of judgment made alone, miles from any backup, trusted to do right by the land when no one is watching. They protect the deer from the poacher and the lost hiker from the mountain, often in the same afternoon. People and wildlife both rely on someone steady out there who knows the country by heart. It is stewardship with boots on.
