Someone who listens past what you said, then decides, with their name on it.
Why the human is the point
A symptom is rarely the whole story. The doctor listens past what you came in saying, catches the worry you did not mention, and weighs a decision a chart alone cannot make. Tests can be automated. The judgment about what they mean, for you, with your history and your fear in the room, cannot. You are trusting a person to be right about your body and to tell you the truth kindly. That responsibility carries a human name, and always should.
