Makeup Artist
With a brush and a good eye, a makeup artist helps a face meet its big moment looking wholly like itself.

Why the human is the point
A makeup artist reads a face the way a painter reads light, then works with a brush to bring out what is already there. It is close, careful work done at arm's length from another person, blending, softening, catching the exact moment when someone looks up and recognises themselves. Much of the craft is in the calm they bring, the steady hands on a wedding morning or before a stage, the reassurance passed along with every stroke. The best of them do not paint over a person but turn the volume up on them, so the face in the mirror feels more like home, not less. That mix of skill and warmth is why people remember how an artist made them feel long after the day is over.
