Magician

The person who holds a room in their palm and hands you wonder you agreed to be fooled by.

Why the human is the point

A magician works the oldest room in the world, the small circle of people leaning in to watch a pair of human hands. Everything depends on reading you in real time, the flick of your attention, the moment your guard drops, the beat to hold before the reveal. The secret is rarely the trick, it is the person, warm and quick and completely present, making you a partner in your own delight. You know it cannot be real and you gasp anyway, because someone practiced ten thousand hours to give you that one clean second of impossible. Magic is generosity dressed as mischief, wonder made by hand and offered across a table. It reminds you how good it feels to be surprised by another person.
