Farrier
A horse cannot tell you where it hurts. The farrier reads it from the hoof up.

Why the human is the point
A horse carries its whole weight on four small surfaces, and the farrier is who keeps them sound. It is part blacksmith, part vet, part reader of a thousand-pound animal that cannot say what is wrong: trimming, shaping hot steel, and balancing a stride you have to feel more than see. Get it wrong and the horse goes lame. There is no app for a nervous animal and a hoof that must be right. There is a calm person, bent over, hands sure.
