Drummer
The heartbeat everyone feels but few could name, kept alive by two hands and two feet.

Why the human is the point
Rhythm is the oldest music there is, older than melody, and the drummer is the person holding the whole band together with it. Four limbs move independently, each keeping its own pattern, until the room stops thinking and simply moves. A good drummer listens harder than anyone on stage, nudging the tempo, leaving space, landing the fill that lifts the chorus exactly when it needs lifting. You feel it in your chest before you understand it in your head, which is exactly the point. Watch their face and you will see someone doing four things at once and grinning about it. That pulse is a human decision, made and remade beat by beat, and it is the reason a room dances.
