A playlist is decided in advance by no one in the room. A DJ decides in the moment: feeling the floor tire, dropping the track that lifts it, holding the good part a bar longer because the crowd asked without words. It is reading a room and answering it, live, with music, so that a few hundred strangers move as one thing for a night. An algorithm serves the average. A person plays for these people, here, tonight.
