Conductor
The one person on stage who makes no sound, and somehow shapes all of it.

Why the human is the point
A conductor is the one facing the wrong way, back to the crowd, turning a hundred musicians into a single instrument. Not a note comes from the baton, and yet the tempo, the balance, the swell and the hush all flow from those two hands and a look. Months of study go into the score before a single rehearsal, so that on the night the conductor can listen forward, catching an entry here and drawing out a phrase there. It is leadership you can hear: trust running both ways between the podium and the players, built over long hours together. When it clicks, dozens of people breathe as one and the music lifts, and everyone in the hall knows it happened live, once, for them. Upbeat, downbeat, and a whole orchestra leaning in.
