Being funny to children is the hardest crowd work there is: they will not fake a laugh, and they will tell you if you are boring. The clown reads a room of small, honest faces in real time, improvises around the kid who cries and the one who charges the stage, and turns pure chaos into joy. Behind the paint is a skilled performer doing live, unrepeatable comedy. A screen can play a cartoon. It cannot see your child and choose, right then, exactly what will make them laugh.
