Barista

Your name, your usual, and ninety seconds of care poured slowly.

Why the human is the point

Anyone can extract caffeine. That was never the job. The job is the room: your name remembered, the cup made slower than it strictly needs to be, the small ceremony that turns a commute into a pause. A good barista is a bartender for the morning shift, part craftsperson, part keeper of the regulars. The coffee is the excuse. The welcome is the point.
