Arborist
High in the canopy, a climber tends the living architecture of a tree so it can stand another hundred years.

Why the human is the point
An arborist is a person who has learned to think like a tree and move like one too, up in the crown on ropes, reading which limb to keep and which to ease away. Every cut is a decision made in the moment, weighing the tree's health, the weather, the wood, and the people below. It is work of nerve and tenderness at once, because the goal is not to conquer the tree but to help it live longer and safer among us. Up there the world goes quiet, and the whole job comes down to a steady hand, a good knot, and respect for something older than the street it shades. When they come down at dusk the tree is still standing, lighter and sounder, and that is the point.
